Some of the strategies I find to be useful (trial and error) are: In the late game roundabouts are very helpful for preventing multiple driveways from the same color from causing jams when they're all connected to a line. Make sure that other house colors are not randomly poking into roads because other cars passing by will slow down for that driveway, even if those cars aren't moving (although sometimes this is unavoidable). IMO, motorways are the best items and are vital for the far end game. They're also significantly faster than normal roads. Motorways have no limits, so they're excellent for far connections.Possibly, but you'll want to avoid any intersections in general, even if it means creating a longer road.Yes, roundabouts are great and very useful.(That is, separating every color and to avoid interference with other colors). While on the topic, I'll even go as far as to say that when you get a choice of upgrades, in almost all cases the motorway is the best choice because they are vital for those 3000+ runs. Without motorways you will definitely not be able to get into the far late games of over 3000.

With highways do you mean Motorways? If so then I disagree with that.Take advantage of extra roads to avoid bad spawns. I'd ignore trying to do any form of grid and instead focus on the most efficient route without any overlaps with other colors. You really want to avoid having even two colors sharing the same road because in the far end-game (over 3000) the locations start getting too much demand to keep up even in single color routes. The best strategy is to keep every color separated as much as possible and even have specific houses going to specific buildings to avoid slowdowns. If houses show up in inconvenient locations then it's best to just avoid using them. Most of my games end because the cars can't even park fast enough to reduce the timer because demand keeps going up. I have over 2000 on most maps (those which I've tried and played so far) with a couple even over 3900. That being said, the top players score in the thousands so there must be some tricks… i’m guessing if you can break 2000 on a regular map then youre the guy who should be giving tutorials Highways work well in many cases but the loss of tiles can kill you in the late game when new things appear in impossibly far places.

This maximizes where houses appearĥ-Most games where I am over 1300 have been avoiding using highways and red lights except to get over rivers or to connect things that are across the mapĦ-Seen most success with roundabouts but dont overload them or use them unless you can’t avoid colors mergingħ-cut diagonal instead of corners and you’ll save a tileĨ-use extra roads as placeholders like an O-shape around an intersection until you can get a roundabout or to block a building or house from appearingĩ-stoplights work well when 2 colors must cross paths but the more crowded it gets the more they just cause issuesġ0-in general, the more tiles you have to plan ahead the better. Better to make them go around than to lose!ģ-Grid systems work well but the center of your city is where you have to be careful about future congestion.Ĥ- leave 2 spaces between roadways, one space open from buildings and entrances.

I’ve always used ALL houses and have over 1300 on every map…ġ-Try to keep colors seperate and prevent them from sharing roads if possible.Ģ-When you are in the later stages of the game and a color is in trouble, its almost always 2 or more colors all using one intersection- see if you can delete a single connection to reroute safer colors a different way-they will choose the fastest route even if it kills you.
